Hi girls!
I know disposable liners partially defeat the purpose of cloth diapering but it's the only way DH will consider going down this road Any suggestions on disposable liners that work well with most diapers? G-diapers don't seem to get great reviews so I'm a little hesitant to buy them, especially since I hope to only have the use the liners as "training wheels" for DH for a few months...

Any suggestions of liners and/or all-in-one diapers would be appreciated!!
Re: New to CD - disposable liners?
Flushable liners are available through many manufacturers and work with pretty much any cloth diaper. Once your LO has solid-ish poo, that is.
Flushable liners are useless with runny newborn poo. First, the liners are too big to fit well in teeny nb diapers. You can cut them to fit, but poo is going to get everywhere in the diaper and the liner is going to make more work, be more gross and involve significantly more poo-touching. EBF poo is water soluble, so without a liner the whole diaper just goes in the wet bag and then into the washing machine on laundry day. If you have a liner you will have to fish it out of the poo-mess to flush it.
Newborn poop, whether formula or breastfed, is so easy. You put it straight in the dryer. Liners are useless because the poo is too runny anyhow.
Skip the Gdiapers and get prefolds and covers. It's honestly easier. Less steps, less leaks, easier to wash. Prefolds are magic for newborns. If you have enough well fitting covers, you don't even need to snappi! Just fold into thirds and stick in the cover. You take the diapers off, put them in the wetbag, then dump the whole bag in the washer. No stuffing, no trips to garbage, nothing. Super duper easy.
I tried using liners just as LO started solids but she went straight to ploppable poos, no nasty in-between stage, so I don't think they are useful at all.
Your husband may be hesitant but as soon as you explain to him that good cds keep poo contained, instead of sposies that let it explode all over everything, he'll be more game.
Flushable liners are great after baby has started solids, they really don't work before that since the poo is so liquidy.
I like both the GroVia and Bummis brands.

Do you mean liners or inserts?!? They are two different things. Liners would stop the poop from getting on the diaper, but inserts absorb pee.
This is the ONLY time I will ever say this. The Walmart/Target/etc Kushies disposable liners are the best ones I've tried.
I was gonna say this too - I think we were talking aout 2 different things.
I haven't used any disposable nserts but would consider them for travel.

I'm guessing you're talking about an actual disposable insert, which yes you're right, kind of defeats the purpose of cloth diapering. I use Grovia hybrids, which are basically a shell/cover, and then your choice of a cloth or disposable insert. I use cloth but do have some disposable inserts on hand for vacations and whatnot. If you're thinking about something like this, I definitely recommend this brand. DOn't buy Gdiapers- the reviews are right, they don't work.
