DS has been the youngest/'baby' at DC since he started 6mos ago. That earned him one of the cribs closest to the door so he's easier to check on. Well, there are 2 new LOs starting in his infant room, so yesterday they moved him to a different crib, facing a different direction and everything. Poor little guy didn't know what to think and apparently was not too pleased with the move, so decided that he was only going to sleep 1 nap for 45mins (when he normally sleeps 2 1hr naps.) With that lack of sleep, we thought last night would be a good sleeping night. Not the case - party in DS's crib from about 1-2:45 last night. Ugh! Sleepy working mama here!

Re: tough times at DC
Aw, that really stinks! Can they move his crib to face the other way? Poor bug. And, sorry for you guys
Can't move back to the other crib. Hopefully it will go better today. He did fine in a new sleeping environment when we traveled over the holidays. It was the first time he was in a PNP and he did pretty well there.
Maybe there is a 9mo wakeful thing going on... because his sleep patterns have changed the last few weeks too. He was sick for about a week, so sleep got screwed up and we've struggled to get back. I've been trying to let him CIO now that he's feeling better, but have caved after about 45mins and gotten up to feed him. Even then, he hasn't gone right back down after eating, so there might be some wakefulness going on.
This could be the case, but dang it would be so much nicer if the problem could be solved as simply as moving the crib. No matter what the answer is, I am sorry you are struggling and sleepy, that is frustrating. Lots of luck to you.
Unfortunately lack of sleep during the day does tend to translate into lack of sleep at night.
If this is standard procedure for daycare, maybe they can give some tips or at least some suggestions on how long it usually takes for kids to adjust?
