Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Bouncy baby!

My LO is a hyper bouncing kid. He has always loved his Jumperoo and anytime you hold him he tries to jump. As of a month ago we can't put him in the excersaucer because all he is does is bounces and jumps and I worry about his knees. He was in an infant bath and we recently switched to an inflatable one that goes inside the bath tub. The problem is he won't stay seating and contiueously pulls himself up with the ledge or the faucet and tries to bounce. I keep putting him back sitting down over and over and tried all different toys but all he wants to be is stand or bounce.  He gets  a bath every night and lifting 22 lbs over and over is tiring! Anyone else have a bouncing baby? He is just like tigger from Winnie the Pooh.  I am hoping this is just a stage, but its been happening awhile now.

  • I have the exact same thing going on at my house. But my kid is just busy all around. Bouncing, rolling, jumping, army crawling, wiggling, squirming...can't sit still to save his life! We have nick named him Mr. Wiggles because that is all he does is move move move!!! It has been this way ever since he figured out he could move on his own, so probably for the last 4 1/2 months or so. I think we are just going to have a very busy boy, and that is okay. I'm very busy myself. I don't hardly sit down when I get home from work so I guess I could be to blame for his relentless moving...I never sat down when I was pregnant either. Oh well....just more to keep me on my toes. :)

  • DS is the same. I can barely get a diaper on him and getting him dressed usually ends up with him crawling away with his shirt around his neck or one leg in his pants. I gave up on trying to keep him on the change table. Some days he gets away from me totally naked and screams when I wrestle the diaper on him!

As for the bath, DS pulls up on the side of the tub the entire time. I just get in the big tub with him. I soap him up entirely right away and give him bath toys and bath books while I'm doing it and rinse as quick as possible. I usually end up doing both with him standing on the side of the tub. I try and sit him down but he never stays and I don't like to fight him too much because he gets slippery!

So usually I just hold one hand on his belly to give him some support while I soap his hair and back/bum/legs, then one hand under his bum while I soap his front. I use a cup to rinse him off. It's the easiest way I've found to do it!

  • Thanks! My LO is constantly moving too and has been crawling since 6 months and is also trying to walk. I guess I will thank him later as I think he's the reason I quickly lost my baby weight. He keeps me moving :
