Baby shower dates?

I know it's early ladies but I wanted to get an idea of when everyone is planning their shower. I am due August 1 so it will be in the middle of the hot summer in the south. I was thinking about mid may bc I didn't want to be so big and so uncomfortable that I couldn't enjoy it.

I wanted to do my first shower back home in the begining of June. I'm due August 4 and also worry about the same thing, hot weather! My second which is friends and coworkers here where I currently live I will probably do closer to the beginning of July. Just make it indoors!

I live in Seattle, so it really won't get "hot" until July( and our version of hot is 70, however homes don't have A/C).

The only people who have offered to throw me a shower are my mom's BFFs. Her friend (and my MOH) threw my bridal shower 9 years ago and it was really nice, so I am happy they offered.

I don't think we are even going to start talking about dates until after April. I think any time after June would be fine, but it will greatly depend on when my hosts want to have it.

I Have not even thought about a date nor will I. I am not planning anything in regards to a shower as I will not be throwing my own. If someone offers, we'll talk about dates then.

As some others have posted, I'm not planning on having one unless someone has one for me. If that happens, it's purely their choosing.

I have the dates to mine already just because they have to be worked around my DD gymnastics meets. My one friend thats throwing the one where I live is a Gym mom so we already sat down and talked about it. My first one will be June 8th weekend. Then one July 6th. Yes I'm having 2 My family lives out of state so they wanted to throw me one too.

With DS my due date was April 10th and my shower was March 12th. He ended up coming on March 26th so we cut it a little close. I'm not expecting any sort of shower with this one.

With DS, I had my showers around 28 weeks and 30 weeks. The 28week one was thrown by a friend and she suggested doing it early based on her experience with her kiddos. It worked out very well, as it allowed plenty of time to get Thank Yous out and get everything settled, plus get the items I didn't receive from my registry. My second one was thrown by my sister for family and it was out of town. I couldn't travel to my hometown past 32 weeks, so we had to do that one relatively early too.

I also do not expect/wouldn't accept a shower this time just because I don't generally believe in showers for second or subsequent babies. There are exceptions to this...I'm just saying I feel my shower days are done.

Not sure how many I will have because my family is split throughout the state, but I am hoping mid-May because our summers are so busy and the end of May will be too. Plus I would love for it to be kind of around Mother's Day since this is my first.

I'm going to be throwing a shower for a friend of mine, and I'm aiming for about two months ahead of her due date. I just want her to have everything in case the baby comes early.

I'm due August 15th and will likely have two showers. My work throws a shower for all first babies, I don't know when it will be, but most likely sometime in May as we wind up the school year. My mom, aunt and MIL are planning on throwing me a family/friend shower and I think they are looking at early June as a possible date, but nothings been set in stone yet. It will likely be at my IL's house so I guess they can plan it for whenever they want, although my preference would be 6-8 weeks before my due date!

I threw a shower for my sister on May 6th when she was due June 14th. In retrospect, I should have done it a little earlier. The baby did not come early, but by this time she was feeling a little uncomfortable and was stressing about what to wear. I felt awful that I didn't have it sooner, but hindsight and all of that.

When I had DS, my shower was when I was 33 weeks. Big enough to be huge for my shower, but it still gave me tons of time to get things organized.

My mom and grandma were talking about it this weekend. I feel like it is still too early to even be talking about one! They want to do one in early June.

The person who is hosting the shower usually picks the date.

My shower was 4 weeks before my due date, and 2 weeks before the baby actually came. If you have input on the date, I would say 32-35 weeks would be ideal.
