I'll be back at it tonight

Mobile Bumpers: I'll be back at it tonight

Because that thread deserves my undivided attention, and that can't happen when I'm at work.

Until then, how is everyone? Anyone has anything fun to report? I could use a Cups 2.0 update.

Re: I'll be back at it tonight

  • Our weekend was fun-packed, except for the part about the girls sleeping like crap.

The girls LOVED swim class. DD1 really made me proud by being so independent in the water. She would all but push her instructor away. lol

We saw FIL on Saturday and he said he was thinking about naming DH'S little sister Simone. Sounds like a perfectly good name to me but DH just HAD to shot it down, so now FIL asked for our help to come up with a name. Ugh. Sorry but I can't do it.

We had my niece and mom's birthday party on Saturday and it was a whole lot of fun. Poor little DD2 pretty much spent the entire time trying to catch up with her big sister and her cousin, lol, but she seemed to enjoy all the chasing around. Plus she took a few steps here and there, so that made me really proud :D DD1 insisted on being the one to give the presents to her grandma, except she would make sure to let her know what the present was before she even got a chance to unwrap it. Oops.

In not so fun news, my friend's mother passed away Friday evening. *sigh*. That's all I have to say about that for now.

Also, I'm going to take my chance with the walk-in clinic today because DD2 hasn't STTN once since her ear infection started (we just gave her her last dose of antibiotics last night) and that is definitely not her. She also woke up with a fever last night, so methinks those meds didn't do squat. Boo.

  • We had Hank's 3rd birthday at the Monterey Bay Aquarium on Saturday.  MIL and FIL couldn't make it because FIL suffered a pretty bad back injury last week, and he hasn't recovered.

Hank LOVED it.  I'm amazed that every time we go we think we've experienced it all, but with the boys, each and every time is like going for the first time.  Hank can do so much more, and Otis really gets it now.  Every time we approached a new exhibit, Otis was like, "Ooooooooo!"

I loved it.  They both wanted to walk the entire time, so it was a little scary letting them walk through some of the darker exhibits.  I wanted to give them independence, but I was also afraid to take my eyes off of them for a second.  I didn't enjoy the exhibits (I've been there a million times), but I thoroughly enjoyed the boys' entertainment.

My mom and dad and sister came with us.  It was really fun.

The boys slept in the car the entire way home.  Then, we watched the Packers lose.  It was stupid frustrating.

Last night Otis went to bed at 6:45 and Hank followed shortly thereafter at 7:45.  Their normal bedtimes are 8pm and 9pm.  I got to work out, Jay and I got to watch our Squatch show in peace.  Then, we took a bath together.  It was SUCH a nice weekend.

My grandmother might not make it out of the hospital.  I am making plans to go see her tonight.  My aunt and uncle (MI & WA) are flying in today.

We have a neighbor friend's 2 year old birthday party on Saturday.  Every time Jay asks if we have anything going on this weekend I mention it.  He keeps ignoring it.  He HATES kids' parties, but he loves watching the boys enjoy themselves.  It's hilarious watching him hate to love something so much!

  • Mama Ha, I look forward to your continued commentary on the epic thread :)

J&K the aquarium sounds like it was so fun!  I can't wait until it warms up a bit so we can take M to the zoo.  I have vowed that we are going this spring before #2 is born and I get wrapped up in newborn land again :)

The extent of our weekend excitement was an Ikea trip on Saturday.  M had SO MUCH FUN running and playing with the other little ones in the kids section!  It was like going to a free indoor playground.  I wish it was a little closer to home, we'd be there on a weekly basis.

Currently, I'm checking out a family member's registry online.  I hate when I wait till the last minute and all the items left to purchase are either super expensive or really lame, like plain fitted bedsheets.  I thought I was doing ok since the shower isn't for two weeks.  Guess not!  Looks like she's getting sheets and a diaper pail.

  • JK - I'm glad Hank's birthday was a success and that you had such a nice weekend - There's an aquarium near my parents' place. You may have just inspired me to go visit soon :)

Also, I am sorry to hear about your grandmother and I hope your FIL's injury heals soon.

I love IKEA! I always joke with DH that when the kids are older, we can go drop them off (it's also free here) and enjoy a cheap dinner date at the IKEA restaurant. lol Ours has a minimum height restriction though - kids have to be at least 1 meter (39") to be allowed in, so right now only DD1 gets to go. She absolutely loves it there, too. Our IKEA also has $1 breakfast on weekends, so we sometimes go out for breakfast there on Sunday morning.

I hate giving boring things, too, but remember that if they put it on their registry, it's because they want/need them, so I'm sure they'll be happy :)
