Babies: 6 - 9 Months

poop up the back...

We are having some issues!  I just moved A up to size 4 even though his weight is not in that range.  He still had poop up the back this morning. We use sams club diapers and they have been great until recently.  Any suggestions?

Re: poop up the back...

  • This happens when I have DD's diapers on too high and feed her fiber rich foods... no leaks though. But yeah, it'll go up her back sometimes, given the circumstance

  • I figure there isnt much I can do but I thought maybe it was a diaper issue.  His diet has very little variation so I dont feel like thats it. He doesnt eat much solids really.

Is it leaking out on you guys? I use pampers because DD developed a rash on other diapers... idk why. But pampers works for us. I am switching to cruisers next, still in swaddlers.

Though I've heard huggies work better on boys and vice versa. Lol.
  • We use Luvs. I like them, not as much as Pampers, but much better than huggies, and they are A LOT less.

DS was doing this last week, he pooped up his back three days in a row...twice in once day back to back (while we were on vacation)...oy.

We figured part of it was because he was sitting up and that was the only place for the poop to go, and since he pooped so much it came out the back.

I think this is just one of those things that every LO does occasionally.

    GL!

  • we use pampers at night only because they are so expensive. huggies always leaked on us.  He did have it happen in the jumperoo a few times but this was just when he was sitting up.  He must just be a monster pooper lately.

  • I have used ALL the diapers out there def. a no on huggies they are the worst! Although when he was a newborn the huggies naturals were good. But out of all of them pampers is the best and worth the extra money to avoid a blow out on the go. but there are even times they don't do they job for big loads. its a part of mommyhood you learn to deal with.

I don't deal with this.  I have not had a single blowout in cloth. I've used disposables probably 10 days total and had many blowouts in that time. I know it's not for everyone, but it's not something that you HAVE to put up with.  Cloth diapers have strong elastic.  (compare paper plate quality to a real plate)
