Poor Ava is so miserable and is dripping buckets of snot. Any tips to help me help her? I have a vaporizer going in her room and I'm going to see if she'll sit in the shower with me in the hopes that the steam will help.
Hazels had a really runny nose the last couple days too. I've just been using the nose sucker a lot. I'm trying to teach her to blow her nose. She's getting a little better, but I wouldn't say it's very effective.
We also resorted to using the Nose Frida again. He can blow a little bit but it is nothing compared to "Freddie" as C calls him (as in "I don't want Freddie, Mama.").
You can also periodically spray saline to at least thin it all and be sure to encourage lots of fluids, easy on the milk.
If your LO can't blow, suck out as much as you can. If you're really desperate for some temporary releif, I found Benadryl helps. T has been coughing because of nasal drip and I had to give him Benadryl for nap today after he coughed so much he gagged and puked. Poor kids, hope everyone's LO can find releif soon!

I'm in the Benadryl camp too when desperate (which I admit to being lately. I need to SLEEP at some point!) We're so, so, so sick over here...R is running 101-102 fevers, coughing, sneezing, congested. He just got put on Zithromax today, I am hoping it helps. The pedi, of course, said to try to keep him away from H at all costs...YEAH, too late...I love that he loves his sister, but dang he just doesn't understand being sick & passing germs (or how to cover his mouth when he coughs/sneezes)! So guess who's coughing, sneezing now??? Ugh, I HATE this time of year... Anyway, no other suggestions, as I've been doing all of the "usual" things and nothing has been very effective. GL to everyone dealing with The Crud right now!
Re: Tips for relieving toddler congestion?
Sorry about Ava.
