Hi ladies, anyone have a spinal with their c section and then headaches? I have a pretty bad migraine and will more than likely be heading to the ER tomorrow if it doesn't let up. I told the nurses in the hospital and they seem to think it was normal. I felt we'll enough that my doc let me go home early from the hospital much to my and DH'a relief. But the headache became pretty Severe today, anyone else have this side effect to anesthia?
Re: C section mamas with migraine
I got really, really terrible headaches and migraines about a week after my c-section. I was worried at first that it was a bad side effect from the spinal but decided to wait it out because I wasn't sure if it was hormonal or not.
Sure enough, they started going away and getting less intense. I still am getting headaches but no where near as bad as the first week home. Depending how long you've been having them I would say wait it out a bit, drink caffeine, and get as much sleep as you can (I know kind of an oxymoron as a new mom). Definitely be sure to mention it to your Dr though!
It's so interesting that you posted this as I have a terrible headache and it's been exactly a week since my c-section. I rarely get them so will see if it goes away or what the deal is, but definitely good to know that this could be the cause.
Is there anything they can do for them? Or do you just wait it out?

A lot of spinal/epidural headaches can go away on their own but if not they do a blood patch. Basically they take some blood from you and insert it into the spot where your spinal was to create a clot and stop the leaking of spinal fluid.
It's supposed to be a really easy procedure but doesn't sound too fun so I hope for your sake it either goes away or isn't an actual spinal headache and just hormonal or something. I'm thinking one or the other happened to me and I'm like phew!
