Question for C Section Mamas

I had a c-section about six months ago, and my scar is still raised and purplish red. It feels a little sore to the touch, although I wouldn't say it's painful. I would feel a little nervous to shave around the area.

If you had a c-section, what does your scar look like now? I have no idea what would be considered normal...

Re: Question for C Section Mamas

  • Mine is a red line, its a little raised. No pain at all. A little numb to the touch though. I dont have any issues with it at all, i even shave over it. Also this was my second one, so its a scar on top of the old scar, if that makes sense. Good Luck!

  • Mine is pink, not raised but still sore to touch... like of like really strong pins and needles.

  • Mine is pink and raised too. I wouldn't say it's painful but definitely still numb and sensitive which my doctor said is normal and can last a year.

  • Mine is barely noticeable except on the very end for about 1/2 inch where it's red and raised.  It isn't sore to the touch or anything but sometimes when I wear certain pants it will hurt.

  • Mine is pink. Had my c-section 6.5 mos ago. I have been shaving over it for about 3 or so months. Up until about 2 months ago I didn't like anything touching it with force (not talking about clothes). It still bothers me a little when LO stands on my stomach depending on how I am laying/sitting.
  • Mine is still dark pink, although it might look purple-y sometimes; perhaps it's a mood scar?  Stick out tongue I got some Neosporin about two months ago and apply it liberally anytime the scar feels weird.

  • Mine is very healed and very light pink.  Similar to my stretch marks.  It never hurts.  BUT I don't have full feeling in much of my stomach between my scar and belly button.  And sometimes that area above my scar itches but nothing I do makes the itch go away...then it goes on it's own.
