I posted on here a while back asking for advice if going to disney with 2 14 month olds was a good idea...we just got back from a week at Disney World...overall it was a good/bad experience....went with 8 family members (my parents, 2 sisters and BILs and 2 nephews)The boys were a dream on the 3 hour flight...didn't cry once which I was shocked at...but one started acting like he had a cold the day before we left and by the time we arrived it was a full blown stuffy nose, fever etc...which resulted in no sleep for mom and dad the first night...he was relatively happy to be pushed around in the stroller for the most part but the nights were brutal....on the 2nd night he threw up all over me at 4am and seemed much happier after that...fast forward to day 3 and baby 2 is showing signs of the same thing....another night of barely any sleep for mom and dad....last 3 days 2nd baby was sick but 1st baby was better and much happier....so we had one happy baby and one sick baby the entire trip....oh life with multiples....is sometimes so very frustrating....I was really excited about this trip and had the boys not been sick it would have been awesome...whoever wasn't sick was happy as could be but trying to deal with the sick one was exhausting.....sometimes I feel like this is to be my life now....things just always seem harder with 2 (obviously) but I had hoped that it wouldnt be this way....maybe I'm not making much sense just feeling sorry for myself I guess as I planned this trip for our entire family, spent countless hours planning and making sure I had everything to keep the boys happy and comfortable and had really high hopes for a great time and it didn't turn out!
So the moral of the story...if your babies are healthy Disney is great...if they are sick, it sucks!
Re: Survived Disney!
Welcome back- so sorry the kiddos were not feeling well. Being sick at Disney really sucks!!!!! I am a Disney travel agent part time and was a cast member at Walt Disney World in 1996, basically I am a Disney nut. LOL
Definitely don't let it ruin your hopes of a future trip though- take them back maybe at 4- that's a great age for them. We've taken my son at 2, 3, 4 and now 5 (we have the Disney Vacation Club timeshare). We will be skipping this year of course since I am due with the twins in August. I am so excited to take our new additions- probably next year. Disney is totally doable with little ones- they have a baby station at each park complete with changing tables, rocking chairs, breastfeeding areas (if you don't want to do it in public), high chairs, play areas etc. They make it very easy traveling there infants or toddlers. Love the pic!
Sick babies are no fun anywhere!
We also did Disney when the boys were 14 months (then again at 18months, and again at 26 months). At each age it was awesome and special. The second trip we went one of mine was diagnosed with strep (we saw the pedi the day before we left and the culture came back after we left). It was miz until he perked up after some antibiotics.
We went with all three the last trip (26 months and 2 months), and while it was exhausting, we all had enjoyed it!
