Where do you find them?
Where I grew up there was a seasonal magazine that came out from the county of all the classes, from birth to adult. Swimming, sports, exercise, bus trips, you name it.
Now, I'm having trouble finding classes. I almost need to know the names of places to look - Gymboree, the swimming place (I forgot the name), each individual library. Also, these individual places tend to be much more expensive. I've looked at the county, but I think I need to look again.
It's so frustrating! So how do you know what activities are around you?
Re: S/O extracurriculars, where?
Not being snarky- did you try google?
if I put in "toddler sports my city" I get some hits. But I live in a major city, so I don't know.
We still get the circulars with the township parks and rec sponsored classes. I check out the library. Other than that, everything is hella expensive.
you can try looking at your townships website to see if they have a link to their township sponsored stuff. Look at the surrounding towns too.
I tried going directly through our county site initially but couldn't find anything. I actually found the circular online through a mom's group forum. Yay!
I hate my county's website...
If I were you I would search what you want to do with J and see if you get any hits.
I found the toddler dance and yoga classes through a place I did Kindermusik and Prenatal Yoga...I know the place also offers Hypnobabies classes, healthy baby food, and infant CPR. So check Yoga studios.
The library is your friend.
OH go to your city's website and see if they have a family free activities. That is how I found out the Zoo, children's museum, and botanical gardens had toddler activities.
Do you have a pottery barn kids by you? Ours does activities for the kiddos
The Little Gym is right by my house...as is a Bounce house business.
The rec center has swim lessons and a book about activities for LOs' and their parents.
If you want... I can help you search!
