3rd Trimester

Anyone else feeling like they can barely walk?

I literally can barely walk places anymore. I'm just past 37 weeks & the pressure when I walk is so intense. It takes everything in me just to do a grocery shop. Between the braxton hicks, the crazy pressure, the lower back pain & gross hemorrhoids I feel like I can't stand for more than 15 minutes at a time. I don't remember it being this bad last time. Anyone else feeling this way?

Re: Anyone else feeling like they can barely walk?

  • I have issues walking as well. I have SPD, my daughter is a little on the big side (for weight and height) and her head is super low. I end up using the electric carts when I go grocery shopping or I just can't make it very long before I've got BH and my legs feel like they're going to fall off.

And I'm two weeks behind you!

  • I use the electric carts, and at Christmas when DH and I wanted to go to the mall I use their rent a chair service. I get a lot of looks but I need out and to be out for longer then 10 minutes which I just can't seem to walk most days anymore without having to stop every 3 minutes.

  • I feel the same. I'm 37 weeks along today and the achiness in my groin/pelvis is so bad when I walk. It's been this way for much of my pregnancy but it feels worse because of the added pressure of baby dropping and just getting bigger. My doctor said the achiness in between my legs is due to the baby being so low. I never had any of these sumptoms with my first born and ive only gained 20 lbs this pregnancy whereas I gained double that the first time
  • I'm only 32 weeks along and have been feeling really achey for the past week. I had a break from it for maybe 10 weeks (started feeling it a lot around 20 weeks and then it went away with an office chair adjustment). My ob suggested prenatal yoga to strengthen my core muscles, and I'm going to give it a go- but it sounds painful!! She said that it's about that time when you can't do anything for too long of a period, so to keep shifting (sitting, standing, walking, stretching, etc.). Hang in there mama!

I also thought about getting one of those big exercise balls to sit on, hoping that it would help strengthen and stretch me out.

  • DH was teasing me so bad yesterday while we were grocery shopping because I had started waddling a week or so ago.  I was half tempted to get one of the electric carts.

  • I can barely walk or stand, as well.  Between LO's head being super low, I am suffering from REALLY bad sciatica on the right side.  The sciatica limits the amount of stairs I can climb or descend... and walking anywhere for longer than 5 minutes makes it all worse.

I'm 37 weeks, too, and I have a feeling these next few weeks will be the longest of my life!

  • Yes.  I'd been fairly active through my pregnancy.  I was still going to gym in my 8th month and regularly walking about 3 miles.  Then I hit a wall around 34/5 weeks and I suddenly had trouble just walking because there was so much pressure on my pelvic bone and tailbone.  I'm 37 weeks now too.  I walk (waddle) very slow now.  I dread bathroom breaks at work.  I assume the baby dropped and that caused the change.
  • Yes. Me. It's exactly like that and it is miserable.

  • I'm only 31 weeks but yes.  If I do walk anywhere, I walk SO slow and get really tired.  It's frustrating for me because I always was a "fast walker" and really in shape before pregnancy.  Now, I feel like I'm walking like an obese middle aged woman!

  • Im only 29 weeks... I cleaned my house the other day top to bottom, and my LO has been riding super low in breech position for the duration of my pregnancy. Since cleaning my house I cant get into a standing position without pain, let alone taking a step forward... I hope it from the cleaning cause I dont know what else could be causing this much discomfort... His feet kick my cervix all the time so I know hes not shifted, I wish the pain would go away though.
  • I didn't really have this problem with DS but at 27 weeks I'm already feeling some of it. I dread what it's going to feel like further on. Tongue Tied
