Just for funsies.
Yesterday I told Conall he had to eat two bites of his chili before he could have a yogurt. We started counting.
One...two...
He seemed to be liking it so I just gave him another bite. Then he started over counting and I just thought he was playing. He said "one...two..." and I gave him another bite. I figured he'd just missed the extra (third) bite, so I said "three".
His response?
"It's not three bites mommy. It's four bites."
Oh.
Re: What grown-up thing has your kid done lately?
Natty helped clean up the living room before the girls went to bed last night.
She cleaned up the toys, used the carpet sweeper, and wiped the coffee table down.
Katie sat on the couch with a bowl of cheese, pointing out things and saying "Sister, there. Sister, there." while Natty picked up the things she pointed at and put them away.
So Katie is holding out for a management position.
Unable to even.

You don't understand the appeal of Benedict Cumberbatch / think he's fug / don't know who he is? WATCH SHERLOCK. Until you do, your negative opinion of him will not be taken seriously.
My 4 year old has been on hunger strike lately and will not eat anything. One weekend my step son (age 10) came to visit. At dinner, my 4 year old was refusing to eat as usual. So my step son thought that he could help convince him to eat and started saying "c'mon, eat, why don't you eat, you need to eat" etc. Finally my 4 year old looked at him and said "stop clockin me"
LOL!
Today my 4 year old was crying and my TWO year old looked at him and said "you are a drama!"
They are too much
That's awesome! DD uses "guys" when referring to H and I too
.
DD is at my mom's house today. I just called over there a little while ago and mom said that she was doing some work on her computer so DD grabbed a note pad and pen, sat down at her little table across the room and said "I workin', Mimi. You workin' over there, I workin' over here. We all workin'." lol
And yesterday, she kept saying "I got baby sister in my tummy too!" and pulling her shirt up. She's so excited about baby sister. It makes me so so happy. She said she's never, ever going to let baby sister sleep because she's just going to hold her, kiss her and hug her all the time!
I said, "baby sister will need to sleep, just like you do." And she said, "But I love her! I just want to hold her!" Awwww!
I think it's only clicked with DD in the last couple of weeks. It helps that we found out what we're having and call her "baby sister" and talk to DD about names. Plus, she has a baby cousin that she adores! When she's around him, she just stays close to him, pets and kisses him. She's definitely a little mama.
She's thrilled that we're going to have a baby of our own soon.
I was cleaning the tub this weekend when I splashed myself in the eye with the bleach water I was using to clean, I let out a squeal of pain as I rubbed my eyes in the arm of my shirt. My 2 year old ran up to me saying, "momma! momma! I'm gonna go tell daddy your face hurts? Ok?!" (wanting permission to go downstairs because he was suppose to be up stairs napping...)
I told him I was ok but that I was SUPER proud of him to think to go get help if someone is hurt.
My kid uses "Shall we..."
Instead of saying "can I have this" or "can I watch this", he'll say "shall we have a cookie?" and "shall we watch Thomas?"
I have no idea where he picked it up, but it's adorable.
DD cleaned my toilet last night. DS would have cleaned the other toilet, but I only had enough cleaner for one.
My children are weird.
Lol. My DD asks me this too, and then she says, "It's ok if you have to poop, dinner has to go somewhere."

He has to buckle his high chair by himself and pick out his own breakfast. Ike pick it!"
He also has to pick out his own clothes and shoes.
He knew the bag full of tiny pink stuff I brought home was for Baby Tistor.
DD started saying "Oh Jesus" when something wasn't going her way. I told her she shouldn't say that and after a few days, she started to self-censor. She now says "Oh Chuckie Cheesus" and also started saying "Oh Crackers" - no idea where either came from.
DD has also started blaming her farting on other people - not the best thing in the world. I blame DH for this habit. If she farts or hears anything resembling a fart noise she says, "You just farted!" to whoever is in the room with her in a very cartoonish voice. We have also been trying to impress the need to say excuse me - but now she advised that "excuse me" is just wrong and she needs to say "excuse my butt" - obviously it is her butt that is doing it not her.

My kid will climb onto my desk to grab my cooled coffee and chug away. He loves it. Luckily I never let go of it while it's still hot.
