On Sat night DD woke up throwing up in her crib. I knew something was wrong immediately, because she doesn't get up unless there's an issue. I went in and there was throw up everywhere. DH cleaned her up while I cleaned and replaced the sheets. This happened twice more within a 90 minute period. Finally she went to sleep with no problem, woke at 6am and was dry heaving. Once she settled down she was ok. She had a low grade fever (about a 100) and diarrhea that morning. We followed the brat diet yesterday and she hasn't thrown up since, but her fever has gotten worse. Last night we have her tylenol and put her down. She went right down. My husband checked on her at 1 am and she was burning up (103) so we woke her, gave her tylenol and TRIED to put her back down. All she wanted to do was play/talk and wouldn't go back to sleep. Her fever broke within 45 minutes and we decided to put her down. She was soooo playing us and screamed. As soon as we walked in she would lay down but as soon as we walked out she screamed. This lasted 1.5 hrs at which point DH stood in her room by the door until she fell asleep. She is doing the same for naps today. She definitely has some sort of virus, but right now it is only manifesting itself through a fever and that's it. She had a 104 this morning. It breaks and she's happy girl again. Sleeping though is a nightmare. She went through a similar virus 3 months ago and it last 5 days (fever only) and she had no sleep issues. Any words of advice?? Sorry for the vent...TIA

Re: I'm at a loss and really concerned (partial vent)
Boo! That sounds like no fun. The only advice I'd give, I'm sure you already know (if the fever keeps up for more than a couple of days, if it gets too high, yadda yadda).
Good luck!
Just a different view point, I asked my pedi about the alternating meds and she said it is fine to do but if one is working she prefers not to use the other one unless the 1st stops working. Keeping it kinda like the saying an ace in the hole if that makes sense.
Good luck, went though this early Dec and it sucked but as long as you keep her fever lower and she drinks liquids and plays you are doing good.
