Hair question:
DD's hair is long enough that it looks crazy most of the time if I don't do anything to it. She has been pretty good about leaving pigtails in, but her hair is so fine the the cotton-type bands I use come out really easily. I think if I use regular rubber binders for kids she will end up ripping her hair out. What does everyone else do?
Re: moms of girls
I don't have a girl, but I watch a 2.5 year old little girl. Her mom uses the cotton hair rubber bands and I just put them back in her hair 20 times per day. She's so crazy, it's very hard to keep her hair looking nice, but I don't really think that's the point at this age. Really, I'm just trying to keep it out of her face.
My DD's hair is super long! (My siggy pic is old!) I tried updating it, but it didn't work. It's down onto her neck and it's always in her face because she has a natural side part. So her hair is always up in a ponytail or clipped to the side. I've had luck with Goody's elastics. They are cotton, but they have little ridges in them. They are "child-size" and come in a multipack with lots of colors. If she has ittle wispy hairs coming down, I also will use one of those contoured clips (you kinda snap it in place). Seems to work for us.
Maybe this is obvious, but did you try wrapping the elastics tighter? Also, maybe give the rubberband-type ones a try. Maybe if she starts pulling on it and realizes it may hurt, she won't do it.
THERE YOU ARE!!
Oh.my.goodness!! Leah is so adorable. She looks so much older than she is (it must be the hair)!!
Stick around, we were talking about where the H you went!!
These sounds like the ones we use too. Ours may be an even cheaper (as in quality) version because they often snap. DD still manages to pull them out, but she keeps doing it, so it must not hurt that much.
Aw, you're so sweet! Thank you. : I responded in shanado's insanely long thread that I don't even have a great reason for not joining in. I've just been so overwhelmed with working and Leah and learning how to balance it all. But I do still lurk and I love seeing what everyone's up to. I will try to participate more! :
Same here!
