Shoes?

Since some of our LO are standing and likely to walk soon... Whst shoes do you prefer for them? Especially moms that have previous little ones.

We haven't bought DS any shoes up to this point but he stands all the time and cruises some. So we need shoes now. What shoes or types of shoes or style are best for when thry first start walking ?

Actually, they only need shoes if they're going to be walking outside. Barefoot or with socks is best for early walkers.

Yes, I was mostly talking about for outside and in public. Shoes seem like they are going to be a pain so we will only use them when necessary to protect his little feet :

because LO likes to "walk" whenever we're out sometimes, and I know he'll only want to do it more and more. I've heard great things about Robeez by Stride Rite though.

When my son started really walking instead of cruising (at around 15 months), we used Skidders. They are basically sock shoes. (You can get them at target or bru or other places I'm sure). Like a previous poster said, it's better to not have shoes at all. You definitely want something SUPER flexible.

The Robeez by stride rite are really good, they're malleable and soft but good for crawling and walking. I found several pairs at a consignment sale, so you probably can find some without having to drop 30 bucks on them!

They're also super easy to pop on their feet, but Ds can't pull them off as easy as socks

Got these cookie monster shoes for my son. They work well...I feel safer letting him roam around in them rather than slipping in socks.

When DD goes out in public or too daycare she wear robeez, but just for around the house, she is either in socks (which don't last long) or bare feet.

I really like the Robees type shoes. They have some at Target that are 15$. They are leather soft sole shoes. It's almost like walking barefoot, but it gives LO traction especially since we have hardwood flooring. I recommend them for early walkers.
