...but I am so glad today is my shower and then it will be over!
She insisted on sending evites b/c they would be "so much easier." Except when people RSVP'd all she got was their email address so we have no clue who is actually coming, or if MIL's family ever even received invites.
It didn't occur to her that cake, decorations, games, or favors might be a good idea. Thank God MIL is cohosting and figured this out!!
She came over yesterday under the pretense of helping me clean, since the shower is at my house. She then proceeded to cook until 9pm while my I cleaned the entire house myself [including my newly soiled dishes] b/c she didn't bother making anything ahead of time like she said she would.
I am extremely thankful to be having a baby shower, have bitten my tongue through all of this [as I will continue to do], and am thrilled to be spending a day celebrating motherhood and our son's impending arrival w/ my guests... but I had to vent somewhere!!
Re: I love my mom...
Getting myself out of the house to unwind while mom/MIL set up was perfect and I arrived right along with the 1st guests! Everyone had a great time and it was so nice to see them all!
Wonderful gifts and lots of yummy snacks/cake left over... I'm wiped, but happy!
Thanks ladies for letting me vent here a little and not making me feel like a jerk!! It was stressful, but well worth it!
Congratulations! I'm glad everything went so well!
