Just found out that brother and SIL are expecting and I am so excited! It's going to be great having another little baby around at family gatherings and I'm excited to be the fun aunt who can mess around with him/her but not be responsible!!
Whats the best thing about being an aunt?
Re: Best thing about being an aunt?
I absolutely love being an aunt. I would do anything for my niece and nephew, and I cannot wait until I have many more nieces and nephews! They light up when I come into the room, the smiles on their faces melt my heart. My niece and my son are 8 months apart, and they act like sister and brother! They love each other so dearly, and they fight like it too! haha My nephew is 4 months, and Carter loves him too, he says his name, and exclaims "BABY!" almost every time he sees them.
To sum it up, you get to love another tiny baby, your kid gets playmates, and you don't have to parent/support financially! :-) Oh, and you can spoil them more! haha
Being able to spoil them rotten :P
I am an aunt (biologically) to 4, and (marriage) to 3. I love being the "fun aunt" who can do projects or crafts with them, build a fort, take them to new things (play centers, movies, etc).
I agree with this! I was an aunt way before I was a mom, but more babies make family get togethers more fun!
Congrats on the new addition to your family!
I love being an aunt. I love being able to be the "good guy" with them. Being a mom I feel like I play the bad guy a lot and am the one that has to do all the unfun things. I like being able to just spoil my nieces and nephews and leave the worrying to their moms.
Congrats!!!! I was an aunt way before I became a mom. I loved having my nephew around specially because I am the youngest in my family so I never had babies around. I loved watching him grow and get smarter everyday. He is now 6 but I moved to CT and they still live in FL. I love visiting them and talking on the phone with him, he would ask me about DD and will tell me about things that are going on in his life.
Congrats!
I love doing fun things with my nieces and nephews. I also love that if they act up I'm not the one that needs to be the disciplinarian. I do go with what the discipline is though.
