Hi ladies. So I'm kinda clueless when it comes to VBAC. My DS is 7 months and we're going to start trying late summer/early fall so that would put our kids a little over 2 years apart. I was devastated when I had to have an emergency c-section with him and would love to experience a vaginal birth. I know I have to talk with my doc but what is the normal protocol on docs letting you do this? Do they determine based on how far apart or what? Any imput would be wonderful!

    You need to find a doctor or midwife who supports VBAC. There is lots of evidence that VBAC is safe, yet many doctors haven't gotten the message. Usually your doctor will ask if you had a low horizontal c/s incision, because that is the safest for VBAC. Some docs will prefer at least 18 months between births for VBAC but others are fine with it if you deliver sooner. HTH!
