Hope Springs/Valentine's Day

Did anyone watch the movie Hope Springs?

We watched it last night (in pieces.....between E's wakings).  It terrifies me. I can easily see DH and I falling into that rut.  Living together and losing the romance/intimacy. Of course, DH isn't quite the douchecanoe that Tommy Lee Jones plays and I am not a pushover/prude like Meryl Streep plays.

So it got me thinking about Valentine's Day. Last year we didn't do gifts and brought E with us when we went out to dinner. This year, I already line up a sitter and I am trolling the interwebz for gift ideas.  We're not gonna go stale if I can help it!

Have you started thinking about it yet? V-day, not intimacy issues.

    We don't celebrate it. Sad, I know. But my birthday is the day before and our "anniversary" is the 27th....it just became too much in one month. So we usually do dinner or a movie on my birthday, and then go out and do something our "anniversary"....usually whatever we feel like doing that day.

    I say "anniversary" because we have been together 7 years and we consider it an anniversary but some considered it nothing unless you are married. Whatevs to those people.
