another cold??!!

Ugh..I know it is winter, but my little guy has another cold! We literally just got over one 3 days ago. My mom watches him, so he had given it to her and now she ended up giving it back to him. This is sooooo frustrating!!! I know a cold isn't anything major and we should thank our lucky stars that that is all it is, but still I hate this. He's had probably 3 minor colds, then this last one was a bit worse, took him to pedi & got him all checked out and they put him on medicine. He got better very quickly and we had been free of snot-sucking since Wed, then yesterday he started getting it again. I just want him to be healthy for an extended period of time, please!

My SIL made a comment during the last cold to DH that 'Boy, he sure gets sick a lot. I'm surprise your pedi doesn't put him on some extra vitamins or something.' Should I be irritated at that?? I was :)  But I've been exclusively bf'ing and other than these colds he's doing excellent. Should I ask the pedi about vitamins or something or just chalk that up to a comment to ignore?

    Ignore her! Our pedi had given us a vitamin Last visit which my LO would NOT take... We told him at our 6 mo wcc and he said don't worry. Your milk is the best sickness prevention out there!

    I was frustrated too b/c we had 4 colds in about 3 months but none were anything that needed medicine so it is just part of life and I don't really consider it being sick if doctor's attention is not needed.  I mean he obviously has a little something but nothing to go crazy about.  It does annoy me too b/c his runny nose and he rubs it on his hands and then me, drives me nuts!  I would also be annoyed by the comment.  We have a friend whose LO is always sick, I mean fever, crupe, ear infection - that is being sick all the time.
