NBFR: should I call my dr?

This is the wrong board for this, but my phone won't post on the nest boards because they are not formatted for mobile, I guess. So here goes.

Warning: Contains some TMI.

This morning, I had some pretty heavy postcoital bleeding. Light pink, though. And it's still mildly continuing. No pain or anything. Only time it has ever happened before was when I was pregnant with DS. Should I call my Dr about this or wait and see if it happens again? I have had cervical dysplasia sp? before, and I know that can cause it. So I am a little worried.

  • My rule of thumb is if you have to ask, then you should. Better safe then sorry.

  • Just page doc on call and ask. I find it will ease your mind

  • I have had this before and chalked it up to things getting knocked around. Are you pg? If not, I wouldn't worry unless it doesn't stop or you are in pain.
  • Thanks, I think I will call them tomorrow. As I said, the only reason I am really worrying is because I have had cervical dysplasia before. I had cryosurgery done and my last PAP was normal, but it always sticks in the back of my head.

As for being pregnant, that was my FIRST thought when I saw it. And I about passed out. But then I rationalized it. I have been on the pill absolutely consistently since DS was born three years ago, not missing a single dose except when there was a shortage and I could not get it. We used condoms for a month then, longer than the pharmacist said was necessary. And we have used condoms anytime I have been on any sort of antibiotic and for a week following. We definitely do NOT want more children right now. I don't think there is any way I could be pregnant.
  • If you have access to a nurse hotline I would call that and just ask for advice. If they say it needs checked then I would get it checked if they say your fine and keep an eye on it then keep and eye on it.
