DH punched me in my face....

He was asleep and dreaming Saturday night.  He punched my in my stomach first, but I sleep with a body pillow and so it didn't really hurt and just sort of woke me up just in time to get a jab to my cheek.  I punched him back in his arm and said "Watch it!" he mumbled "huh, sorry" rolled over and was snoring...I don't think he ever really woke up.

So...the next morning  (yesterday) I mention this to him and he would not believe me for the entire morning.  He started teasing me "what else did you dream about." and sort of made fun of me for "making this up."

Finally after I got really mad at him about it he believed me and felt sooooo bad about it.

Anyone else's DH get violent when sleeping?  This is the second time he's hurt me while asleep..the last time he kicked me hard in the leg...that one left a bruise....this time, THANK GOD, there wasn't a bruise or anything.

  • H only did once.  The night I got my wisdom teeth out I got elbowed in the cheek.  That hurt likeamotherfucker.

  • I got elbowed in the head once.  I think sometimes he doesn't remember that he has to share the bed with someone and tends to sprawl!

  • WHOA!  No mine laughs hysterically a lot.

I get violent though...I once reached over and punched DH in the family jewels.  It was so weird to because I recall thinking in my dream..."What a jerk I will show him!...then punching him there"...but I was asleep.  DH was nervous sleeping for a solid week after that.  poor guy.

  • My DH can be like that - one night I thought he was going to break my finger.   He is also known for sitting up in bed and yelling at me to get off of the effing ladder, move the ladder, hand me a wrench... something like that.  He got so angry at me one night that I actually had to tell him that 'I quit'.  He shrugged it off and rolled over.
  • If my dh ever has more than 4 beers or so he sleeps violently. He thrashes and I have had quite a few elbows to the upper part of my body. It is sooooo annoying. Now when he passes his drink limit he sleeps on the couch, lol.

LOL Rach! My dh does that too. It is like he is wide awake, his eyes are open, sitting up and yelling about something ridiculous "where is the pizza box, over there you don't see it?" or once he was yelling about a red balloon. Its so odd, I just play along and he doesn't get as wound up and sometimes I write it down so I can remember to tell him in the morning, HAHAHA
  • My DS punched me in the face while sleeping the night after my sinus surgery...oh my god, I saw stars while I fumbled for my percocet!  I slept with pillow barriers between us for a couple weeks after that!
  • DH has punched me in the face. Well it was actually a back hand as he rolled over. I also woke up in a head lock.

I get him back in weird ways. I tried those nose strips to help me breathe at night. He woke up with it on his chest. That hurt coming off.

Another time I went to sleep with those sticky heat things on my neck. He woke up with it on his back. Each time I didn't realize I took it off. He tells me he is waiting for the day he wakes up with a pad stuck to him. If he hits me again, maybe he will.

Yes!  Its creepy as hell when he looks at me - eyes wide open and is talking.  He never remembers a thing.
