Is the newest edition April 2011?
Is it still up-to-date enough for me? I am a FTM due in August. We will likely buy "big ticket" items a few months before (maybe June?). It will be two years old by then.
Do you know if they issue a new one every so often?
Re: "Baby Bargains"
PERFECT! I will definitely wait until then! I think it will give me plenty of time.
When you've been married this long, you need a ticker to remind you.

Expecting Baby Bean February 2017
Sorry, but I disagree. I bought this book when I was 4 months pregnant to help with my registry and I just used it again today to research baby gates for my 6.5 month old. Not to mention all the sections I highlighted and pages I folded over.
Honestly, I just got this book and found it to be "eh". The tips and brands they recommend are the same ones you see on other websites.
I also feel they are way too down on some brands. PBK may not be a "bargain" but you can't tell me it's any worse than Land of Nod or Restoration Hardware.
Which websites?
OP, I used this book to help me narrow down my options. I pretty much wanted middle of the road everying (not the budget category and not the most expensive either). This helped narrow down my focus and saved me loads of time. The biggest help was with furniture and car seats. This book and amazon.com reviews made selecting items much easier.
Lucie's List works well for me. Amazon reviews were also helpful. Stroller Traffic has a good registry guide (a bit on the expensive side but also has middle of the road items). Hellobee has registry and gear guides as well.
Baby Bargains is definitely the most consolidated source of information, but the other websites I've listed were helpful as well.
