to pregnant women.
Yesterday I got a pedicure. After a few minutes, the nail tech asked nervously, "Are you...pregnant?" Me: "Yes." Tech: "Oh, okay. I didn't want to ask just in case."
Well then why did you ask, dumba$$?
Then she keeps going. "I wasn't sure if you were just small everywhere else but had a gut." Umm, thanks?
And then, "How much weight have you gained?" I dodged that question. Who thinks it's okay to ask a pregnant woman (a stranger, no less) how much weight she has gained??
Okay, thanks for letting me vent! ![]()
Re: We should start a blog of sh!t people say...
I like this idea! I have never used tumbler though

People are just rude! I love the idea of starting something on tumblr and adding funny gifs!!
When I announced my pregnancy at work last week, I got the following gems from 3 different people
"Were you trying?"
"I could tell, you were really out of breath during a normal conversation"
and my favorite.....
"Yeah, you didn't look too good last month"

This reminds me of a funny story. A patient I had a month or two ago asked me if I was pregnant, and I said yes (I was 30+ weeks, so it's pretty obvious). He said "Oh good, I hate being wrong. Once I was at the grocery store and the cashier was a petite girl with this huge belly, so I asked when she was due and she told me 'I'm not pregnant, I just drink a lot.'" (She probably had the big belly from liver disease from all the alcohol). He said he was so embarrassed he just started bagging his own groceries so he could get the heck out of there faster. I felt bad for the guy.
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
I'm totally on board.
My one friend's jaw literally dropped when I told her I was pregnant and she said "Again?!?!". Like I do it on the daily or something. And she knew about our loss so it really rubbed me the wrong way. Really.
I would have done something unmentionable with the polish remover...
Here's one:
A month after my D&C after my first loss, the nurse at my OB office, "Well, you've lost weight."
No Sh*t...
I have had people flat out ask how much weight I've gained.
I also get a lot of people (who don't know about our loss) ask if we've been trying for a long time. Like, people I work with asking that, which is an awkward question. Like, do you really need to know how long we've been having unprotected sex?
I'm a firm believer that if it would be rude to ask to a non-pregnant woman, you shouldn't ask a pregnant woman either.

LOVE this idea.
I've been fortunate this time around. When I was pg with my son, the worst thing anyone said to me was from my sister.
We lived in FL at the time, and my family is in Ohio. I must have been about 4 months or so, and I'm still just wearing my regular clothes.
My sis says to my mom, "I don't think she looks pregnant, she just looks like she had a really bad weekend."
Thanks. So I just looked bloated and fat. Lovely!
