I always have, but we have one in every room and hallway. It nighttime nursing significantly easier, since... well... there's almost always laundry or toys on his or our floor. It's a Wallflower for B&BW, which I know is a no-no as soon as he's mobile. We have them throughout the house, and I need to start transitioning to regular ones. Boo.
We use a Homedics Soundspa lullabye for both kids. It has a projection and several sounds. Because DS sleeps in our room, we have the projection on and it's nice to have just enough light.
His sound machine has a blue power light that gives off plenty of light. I usually have a stuffed animal sitting on top of it to block out some of the light though
I did the night light for a couple weeks and she seriously woke up more in the middle of the night so we took it out I put her to sleep and put on the ladybug that projects stars on her ceiling and that's enough light and then that turns off automatically in 45 minutes
