So I've definitely "popped" as you all say. FTM here so no idea what to expect, but I will say this, now that I have a real bump I sorta hate it. It's def baby not bloat, because it's here in the morning and pretty darn hard. Back when I had bloat it grew at night and was still mushy. Buuuut my bloat bump had a much cuter shape! I just look fatter now! Does that even make sense??? Wouldn't bloat be more all around poundage effect? Someone whipped out an OWT to make me feel better and said I must be having a girl bc you carry them more all over. My mom always says that girls steal their momma's beauty bc it's their turn. But I just want a cute bump! Ok, I'm officially whining at you ladies so I'll stop. But anyone with me???

This time I'm just getting WIDE. My gut, my hips, my legs... Even my effing nose is wider. And I'm only just 12 weeks tomorrow. Everyone tells me it's because it's a girl this time. I'd almost wish for another boy if I could get my cute bump back.
How far along are you? On average most FTM don't see a bump until 20 weeks. If you are thin, then you might see a difference at 15 weeks. Again, everyone is different, so it could still be bloat or baby. Usually its STM and onward that have bumps early though.
Also, your internal organs do shift around a bit and can create a bump that isn't your uterus yet (which might explain the shape issue). Again, there is no way for us to know. Ask your physician next time you see them. They can tell you if they feel your uterus over your pubic bone when they measure you laying down.
A good way to tell is to lay down flat on your back. If you feel a protrusion right at your hip bone going towards your navel then that could be your uterus. I'm just over 12 weeks and feel my uterus above my pelvic bone. This is my second baby.

I really dont remember when I got my bumps with my older kids because that was over 10 years ago. I do remember showing well before 20 weeks because I worked in an ER and when I got anatomy Ultrasound I remember telling one of the ER docs I worked with I was having a boy!!! His response "Just one??" I told him just cause he was doctor doesn't mean he wont trip accidently walking infront of my desk!!
I can agree that I was round all over with my girl, my freaking shoes didn't fit!!! In labor I work socks and soccer shoes to the hospital, so not cute. I gave up on undies often wearing boxers or nothing. But with my boy I was still big because I have 10 pound babies but it was more bump then all over swelling. Yes sadly the nose swells too...there are very few pics of me pregnant with daughter.
