Upset at the breast

Just recently my DD has been doing something different while BFing. She has done this about four times. She'll be BFing and towards the end of the session she gets a little upset by moving around a little. When she used to do this a few months ago, we thought it was reflux bc she would cry at the breast. Now she's starting to get upset,her eyes will get glassy like starting to choke or something is wrong but she's not choking or coughing. She starts to close her eyes like she's wincing in pain for a few seconds and then she'll either whimper cry for a second or just soothe herself with her thumb. It's not like the cry that she did when we thought it was reflux. This is definitely something new and weird...anybody have any insight?

    When my LO fusses at the breast I switch sides (although he just fusses, he doesnt do what you described). I figured its because my breast is drained and the flow is slower. I figured that he is fussing because he wants another letdown. Good luck!

    my LO starts fussing at the breast when her diaper is wet, so i have to change her for her to finish eating

    Does she do it after she's been eating for a while, or at the beginning? My DS had silent reflux up until about a month or so ago and it would make him SCREAM out, often early on in the process... Lately he's started pulling away like he's in pain again and crying a bit like you describe after he's been eating for a few minutes -- I've figured out with him (at least, I think I have) that it seems to just be a sign of tiredness, like he gets really frustrated either because he wants to eat but is too tired, or he's just tired and he wants to be in bed rather than eating... But I don't know whether that would be the case with an older baby who probably has more of a routine.
