Ahem TMI question/post

So.... Yeah. I know I shouldn't feel awkward saying this, but I do. Haha

I'm 24 weeks pregnant and for the past week I have felt soreness in the groin area. Not round ligaments or lightning pains. It's like I fell on top of a pole. It is sore when I walk.

I'm guessing it is exercise related. I think I noticed it after running. But it hasn't gone away. Anyone else feeling this? I forgot to ask my OB this week at my appointment.

I'm thinking maybe just extra blood flow in that area causing more sensitivity?
For the record, it's not from sex.

Am I the only one here?

Re: Ahem TMI question/post

  • It probably is just the extra sensitivity. I wouldn't worry too much! This is gonna be TMI too but sometimes after I get off the treadmill it feels like so much pressure down there that all my insides are gonna fall out!

  • I am at 22+ weeks have been feeling this for about 10 days now.  I have been debating calling to ask the doctor, but the pain is not debilitating, just annoying.  It is like ache & pressure more than pain, which it sounds like you are saying the same.  I only feel pain when I am shifting weight on my legs - so walking, adjusting my weight when I stand - and also when I sit on the toilet I feel SO MUCH pressure.  If you hear anything from your doctor, let us know - probably totally normal but it's sooo uncomfortable, I feel ya!!

  • I am having this too and notice it is pretty bad today after doing 45 minutes of cardio at the gym.  It feels very sore, tender and swollen.  I also have the extreme pleasure of having developed a few varicose veins in the area which get very tender and swollen.  I did have my dr. take a look and she confirmed they are in fact varicose veins and that they will likely get worse before they get better but hopefully go away postpartum (hopefully because they are unsightly and painful!).  There are just so many joys of pregnancy Wink

  • I am also 22 weeks and have been feeling a lot of pressure when I use the bathroom. A few days ago I noticed some blood and took myself to the doctor (thankfully not baby related). She said it can be a sign of a UTI, so I am currently being tested for it. I do not want to scare you, but I read your post and just thought I would give you a heads up to possible mention something on your next visit. If it was not for the blood, my doctor did not seem to worried about it when I bought up the pressure alone.

  • TMI TMI TMI fair warning...

After reading PP I took a look down there last night, and I think varicose veins might be the culprit for me.  I am going to call my dr tomorrow and see if there is anything I can do for relief, or anything I should stop doing.  Ugh!!!!!
