ordering Elecare

Where have you found Elecare the cheapest? And how long does it normally take to ship to you? I'm stressing b/c right now the allergist is supplying us with a few cans, but we don't go back to see her again till Thursday. I hate to keep begging for samples, but I also don't want to run out of formula! That's why I hated Elecare so much last time. I was always stressing that I would run out before my next shipment arrived!

Re: ordering Elecare

  • We order direct from Abbott Nutrition... it's the place I've found it to be the cheapest  ($35/can) with free shipping.

They also offer a discount code of 10% on your first purchase ONLY, so don't make the mistake I did and only order one case.. I'd buy a few cases on the first order to save the extra 10%!!

  • Sorry, didn't include the discount code it's 10NEW

You should also see if your insurance will cover it, it's a law in many states that it must be covered with a letter of medical necessity from your Dr.

  • If the allergist keeps us on Elecare I'll definitely fight with the insurance. As much formula as little piggy is eating right now, I'd be in the poor house if I had to pay for it all out of pocket!

  • I would try having the Dr. fill out a medical necessity form for it. A lot of times with a little help from the Dr. you can get it covered 100%.

  • I order mine through an in network medical supplies place. Edge park. They are expensive though. Do u have insurance? We had to fight but we got it covered. Some states require insurance to cover formula that is medically necessary. There are new laws out check your state laws. I pay $7 a can or 20%. I did order through Abbott for a bit until my insurance company got it together and told me where to order it. Also contact elecare. There is a help line on their website. Sometimes you can get free samples from them and they may be able to help you with insurance questions. Also the place I get the elecare from said there are some programs that can assist you with cost. Not sure the name of it but again check on their website. And don't feel bad asking for samples! It's too expensive! Edgpark ships right away and I get it the next day bc they have a warehouse here in fl.
