We potty trained DD about 2 months ago and she's doing very well. But she is so scared of public bathrooms. For someone who is newly potty trained she has a bladder of steel and can hold it a long long time.
Well, today we were at the mall for 4 hours and we visited 3 different bathrooms and she wouldn't pee in any of them. We even went to Nordstrom where their bathrooms are very very nice and comfy and have couches, etc. No dice. She hates the loud flushing noise and the fact that many of the doors bang shut. She clings to me and just cries. So after multiple attempts, we headed home and the poor thing had an accident in the car.
I'm thinking of getting a travel potty.  Any suggestions on which one to get?

I love this one. I have the reusable liner for it and its awesome. It fits right in my bag and I can use it as a seat ontop a toilet also.
DS has a hard time peeing in public but he does find automatic flushing toilets to be hilarious. He would rather hold it til he gets home.
I would try that but she hates the sound of the other toilets flushing too.

this is what we have and it rules! It has gone everywhere with us. I use bue diaper sacks that I got from Wal-mart. They require a bit of stretching but it works and they are dirt cheap. I used the sacks that came with it and DD refused to sit on it unless I took the little absorbent liner out.....
DD was scared to death of any big toilet when we first trained at 26 months. She actually progressed to using the big potty much quicker than I thought she would although currently we are reluctant again for some reason,
And definitely carry post it notes for the automatic flushers. It works really well.
and when she first PT I would have the travel potty all set up in the car and if she had to god would run out to the car. Sort of a pain but better than having accidents.
wow, that's a great idea. Thanks for the tip.

The Potette is incredible! We'd duck in dressing rooms for the same loud noise reasons. I can't tell you how many times my kiddos have used it in the back of our Pilot too
aww I'd go with pps idea and get a travel potty.
