My pedi recommended that both my DH and I get one. She said it was important since DS couldnt get one as he is too small and with this flu killing people I didnt want to take any chances!

I got the flu shot while nursing DD1 and just got it 2 months ago and I am currently nursing DD2.
Infact DD2 just got her flu shot earlier this week.

I did not and do not plan to. I think it is a personal decision. IMO, you have to do the research and make an informed decision that is best for you and your family.

Flu shot is absolutely safe for BFing moms, and it's crucial that you get it so you can pass on the antibodies to your LO. Since babies <6 months of age cannot get a flu shot, the baby's only defense against the flu are the antibodies passed on from breast milk. Go to CDC website for more info.
