Won't take a bottle

DD has been great with nursing and taking a bottle since the beginning. At Christmas she caught a bad cold and since then refuses to take a bottle. I have tried different nipples but nothing helps. My older DD has to have surgery next month and I will be away for 2 nights without the baby. I have no clue what to do if she won't take a bottle! Any advice?

Re: Won't take a bottle

  • Have you let someone else try to give it to her? A lot of babies won't take bottles from mommy.

  • I have tried a few people. I know when she is hungry enough she will have to take it, I just don't want her or my mom to be that miserable. :

  • I had a bottle refuser. .. It sounds like he was doing good before, got sick, and you have a month. Keep trying and he will come around:)
  • We have the same issue. Alot of people have told me to try different nippes but nothing works for us. I taked to pedi about it he said its ok if LO goes a few hours without eating in the event I have to leave him or cant nurse him. Pedi suggested to offer baby food to hold LO over or even offer sippy cup. Good luck! Your not alone :)
  • Try lansinoh momma bottle from Walmart. I literally tried every bottle at the baby stores with no luck but found this one online and it had awesome reviews. It is the ONLY bottle my LO will take. GL
