May be photographing my friend's birth!

I am by no means a professional, but I have been working with my DSLR for a few years now and can occasionally get lucky with a few professional looking photos.

Anyway, my friend is overdue, getting induced on Thursday, and a few months ago she asked if I would come to the hospital and photograph the day she gave birth. I said YES, of course!

I am nervous because LO was a c/s so I've never been in a room with a birth, I hope I don't pass out!

Also, I still kind of think she may back out, so I am not getting my hopes up too much, but if she DOES have me do it, it would be so cool!

That would be awesome! I kind of wish I would have had a photographer at M's birth. My mom took pictures, but she was way off to the side, trying to be respectful of our space.

Don't let her back out! I wish my doula would have made it in time so her or H could've gotten some shots.
She can always delete the pics later but can't recreate the birth.
Have you done some looking at other labor pics? My MIL is a MW and she has some stunning pics from births. There is so much raw emotion. I love the pics of SOs helping too.

Oh that's amazing! You will be so overwhelmed with emotion that you won't even notice the things that you think will freak you out. It is the most amazing feeling to see a baby born. I cry every time.

I did that for my BFF from high school. It's an experience I will never forget. And I didn't know it at the time but I was actually a few weeks pregnant with J

I have! I really thought for a while that I wanted to be a birth photographer as a profession, but I am just not an artist when it comes to the editing after the fact. I can fix minor things, and I've taken some photoshop classes for basic editing, but I just don't have that artistic eye that you need to make a living out of it.

I am happy to do it as a hobby though & can't wait because she has like 2 pictures of the day her 2 year old was born and this will be so nice for her to have the moments captured!

That would be such an awesome experience! The only birth I've ever been to was J's. lol I think it would be wonderful for her to have photos like that. DH and I are hobby photographers and we brought our nice Canon to the hospital, but have like 2 pictures. : We didn't even get a picture of the 3 of us we were so busy and exhausted.
