My son is almost 8 months, and he is just now starting to slide across the floor. So I figured it was time to start locking up the cabinets and drawers and such, so I went online to get some reviews of baby-proofing products to see which kinds we should get. We are on a very fixed income right now, since we are expecting a DD to come in May, so I don't want to spend money on something that is just going to break in a month. However, the reviews I found almost all are negative (companies like Safety 1st and Dreambaby), saying the products either break or simply don't work very well to keep the child protected from the very danger that they are intended to work for. I feel overwhelmed with this decision. Does anyone know of a brand of baby-proofing items that are good quality and actually work? I would be willing to pay a bit more for something that I don't have to re-buy later on down the road.
