Hey guys, so first of all I am pregnant with quads. On Tuesday, I woke up to go to the bathroom and I felt something coming out. Then all of a sudden I felt a gush of fluid. Turns out Baby A's membranes were ruptured. Baby A's heartbeat was still great. They sent me straight to L&D. I was in L&D for a few hours and was able to talk to the doctor and the Maternal Fetal while I was there. They did not want to keep me in the hospital. They both think it is best that I am at home and in my own environment that I am used to, due to the increased risk of bacteria and infection in the hospital. And we DO NOT want infection to set in! They told me that my chances of baby A surviving are very very low and that I will probably deliver him within a month was their guess. Unless a miracle happens, and we do believe in miracles! The thing that they are most worried about is me developing an infection, so therefore, I am taking as many precautions as I can. I am also on Penicillin. They have me checking my temp 4 times a day because they said that will be the first sign. If I do develop an infection, they will have to take all 4 babies. Wednesday I was dilated to a 1 and they said I could stay like that for a long time. If baby A does pass, hopefully they can stop my labor and make it to at least 24 weeks, which we are praying all 4 can make it! Today I went in for an appt with my OB and Baby A still has no fluid, the doc said usually it will build back up within 2-3 weeks. However, the heartbeat was still great! So does anyone have any similar experiences with good outcomes on this? Also, T&P's are greatly appreciated at this time.

Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
I pPROMed at 29w2d. I lasted 4 weeks on hospital bedrest before going into labor at 33w3d. The statistics say that 50% of women who pPROM will deliver within 1 week of the initial rupture. 50% of the remaining women deliver in the 2nd week, 50% in the 3rd week, etc. Baby Center has a pPROM support group that I lurked on when I was on bedrest. I did see a few ladies on there who lasted 10 or more weeks after rupturing. Here's a link to that group. Good luck!!!
Drink a LOT of water! The amniotic fluid in the ruptured sac replenishes from the fluids you drink.
7/30/12 - B/G twins born at 33w4d due to PPROM
T&Ps for you! I know there is a twin mama who used to post more on here who ruptured around 20 weeks but was able to hold off delivering until 36 weeks. She has a blog too but I can't remember her name but I do remember her blog:
