Recommend your diapers - We're having blowouts

We've been using Luv's with no problems for months now. A few weeks ago DS started regularly blowing out his diaper for his late morning poo. I figured we needed to go up to size 3 and it would solve the problem but it's still happening. Pee is fine, but pooping is a disaster. I don't even dress him in a full outfit until he poops for the day just because I know he'll be getting his clothes dirty.

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and what you're using now?

  • We use Pampers Sensitive, but have you tried leaving extra room at the bottom of the diaper?  If you secure the diaper lower on the baby it gives extra space for the poop to collect below so it doesn't shoot up the back.  Also, the couple times we've had blow outs are when my daughter was sitting on my lap which also leaves no room for the poop to go, so now when she gives her poop face I stand her up and it's worked out well.

  • I use Luvs and this was an issue until we went up to a 3, leave room at the bottom! I was putting them up to high and Eva was doing the same thing! My mom told me I was putting them on to high, and now we don't have that issue! If we do she's in her bouncer, and it always happens when shes in there and pooped!
  • Up & ups from Target or Kirkland from Diapers.com

  • So far pampers swaddlers for daytime use work great and pampers baby dry for bed time since baby dry are 12 hr protection. We're in size 3.
  • When my LO was younger we used Up & Up brand and they didn't leak hardly ever.

  • I had the same experience when my son was wearing Pampers size 2, we switched to size 3 and it solved the problem. I only buy Pampers. They are the best for my son.

  • We are having the same issue and use Luvs, I never realized leaving room would help I stupidly have done the opposite trying to get the diaper higher so the poop doesn't leak out.

  • We had this problem with Huggies, no matter what we tried (leaving room, changing size, etc) so we switched to Pampers Baby Dry and have never had a blowout since :)
