Thoughts on this girl name

Saw the FN on here as a suggestion for a super feminine name.  MN is a family name, our LN is one syllable.  Please confirm that the fn is a) not a made up name, just very old and b) the spelling.

Emmiline Blair (Emmaline, Emmeline???)

I won't lie, I kind of love the nn Emmy.

Re: Thoughts on this girl name

  • I like!  :)  My daughter is Emma .... I regularly call her Emmy.  I think it's very cute.

  • I think it's beautiful. And I like it with the A in it even the E. Either way making it unique doesn't hurt.
  • We are using Emmeline as a MN if LO is a girl.  We both love this name so much.  Emily and Emma have become too popular for us which is why Emmeline is in the MN spot.  We would have used Emmy as a nn as well.

Emmeline is nice, when spelled correctly.

This. I only like it spelled Emmeline. I really, REALLY dislike the spelling Emmiline. It looks very strange.

  • Love this name. FN was one of my suggestions buy hubby didn't like :( I think Emmaline is the best spelling, Emmeline is okay too.
  • Perhaps this is a little selfish of me... but I like the name Emaline as it is an anagram of my name (Melanie).  The husband and I have been torn between that and Joesphine for our first girl.

  • I'm apparently in the minority, but I like Emmaline because it's spelled the way it's pronounced. I also read a book with that character (nickname Emma) and the name stuck with me - can't use it because DD will have a cousin Emily, but I do love it.
