Re: FFFC/UO

  • I am hoping that I will be called for the job I interviewed on yesterday in keeping with the hours and pay I asked for. I know I asked for more than they pay any of their employees now (being a non-profit), but I want my schooling and experience play to my advantage to they will just pay me what I want. I also think I SHOULD be paid more than the people there without the education and experience to back it up. Selfish? Probably, but I can't afford daycare in this town otherwise.

I let her watch Mickey Mouse clubhouse in the morning. Now that she won't sit still and moves everywhere its a good distraction while I drink my coffee. I didn't last long on the whole no tv before 2 deal.

Kyler watches tv all the time... ok, he doesn't WATCH it... but the tv is always on in our house, so it's in the background for him...

I think as long as you are consistent with how they use it when they get into older ages, it won't become an issue...

  • My two year old loves Shawn the Sheep a dumb tv show and I let him watch it daily so I can have some peace.

  • Sorry I don't know if this goes here but um statistically not EVERY baby on the bump can be so advanced in sleeping, eating, motor, verbal etc. Just saying....

as crazy as it sounds... you always see posts about my kid did this! my kid did that! and it always seems like its happening with everyone else, but not your own... until you actually post if any others *don't* do something yet... then all the moms come out of the cracks that aren't breaking milestones yet...

like for us... we are 8 months, and still no teeth, no signs of teeth either... same with crawling... we still have no want to even TRY to crawl yet...

and Kyler was born in early May...

Don't feel bad. We've been painting here so with DH and I both totally occupied she's been "watching" baby einstein videos probably a good 2 hours a day for the past 3 days. She's going through a clingy phase and I can't wear her while I paint obviously. The puppets keep her happy and we can get stuff done, I don't feel guilty, when she gets older I'll keep it under wraps.

    I love this post!

  • I never have one, but actually do today.

I think people worry too much about whether sibset names go together. I mean your children are two individuals, right? So if you love two names that are different "styles" I say use them.
  • I redid my security settings on facebook, so I have to approve anyone who wants to tag themselves in my photos. I approve my mom (I know everyone of her friends), but I won't approve any of DH's relatives that want to tag themselves. These are all photos of my boys. DH's relatives have never met the boys and show no interest in meeting the boys. They don't really acknowledge that DH got married or had kids, so I don't see why they need to tag photos so they show up on their pages. Something about it just seems unsafe. Maybe it's a little mean, but I don't care.
  • Home sick today so I'll play :

I love my kid but I don't care for most other peoples babies. It's not that I dislike them but they're just not that interesting to me.

Our first daughter was one of those rolling at two months crawling at five and saying mama at 8. Emma was born may 3rd and has rolled maybe 10 times, nowhere near crawling, and just babbling nonsense. It is very strange to me to be on the other side now. I am actually enjoying not running all over the house after her and being able to sit in one spot to play

I am always super surprised when mom friends call me up to see if they can have some time with the girls. I think to myself "why? I don't really like your kid and would NEVER ask to take him for the day". I don't know kinda weird!
