Mobile Bumpers: Speaking of baby names
(this post brought to you by BlinkMe's response in the "If I see one more post..." thread)
What are some names you've heard IRL that made you go "WT FThey can't be serious". Note I want REAL IRL names - none of that "Oranjello" crap.

Re: Speaking of baby names
I have two
1 - I was reading our local paper and came across a blurb about the first baby to be born at my hospital in 2013. His name is (wait for it) Jake-Obe. I am not even sure how you're supposed to pronounce it.
2 - As I was telling my brother about Jake-Obe, he told me about some students of his (he teaches French Lit in college). Her name is Alex-Sandra, which is of course pronounced Alexandra.
Second, I teach preschool and have had sone weird ones but Schuyler Skyler is by far the worst I have seen in awhile.

The period means if someone were to Google the name, it wouldn't lead them to this board.
I believe she meant it the other way around. Like if the mom is googling her kid's name and this thread pops up.
Also, ::dead:: @ z.etaime
seriously, I am French and would have had no clue that's what that name was supposed to be
Ooooh gotcha
The sibsets are what make me scratch the hell outta my head...
Caleb, Noah, McKenzie and Hailey. Seriously? Poor McKenzie (no family significance).
You want a real good one? This was in my local newspaper under the birth announcements.

This is an urban legend.

Wow. Someone took a name that could have been pretty and made it terrible! Really, Brooklyn Camille is
Pretty.
Really?! I am totally calling my sister out on this. I seriously believed her.
Ha Ha! I believe the liquor takes its name from the Japanese word for "green" (which also is Midori). Not sure what they were going for there (liquor or colour), but I would still hate them if they were my parents. lol
One of my friends is a teacher and he has three that make me giggle.
1. Shathead is how it is said.. spelt...... SH!THEAD ( no. joke)
2 and 3.... Boya and Boyb..... the mom had twin boys and thought the hospital named them for her. BOYa and BOYB
I am teaching a little girl to swim and her name is La-a. I think it was an urban legend at one point in time but now it's a name. ::facepalm::
At a children's camp I helped at one summer, there was a kid named TheOne - pronounced "the one."
Yeah... Guess which kid was always up and out of his seat and getting called at from across the room? TheOne.
And a teacher friend of mine had a kid named "The Fonz." She asked permission to call him "Fonzie."
I have a friend whose nephew is named Cashlin. I think they call him Cash.
