Admitted to LD XP update

I just wanted to ask for your well wishes right now.nbsp; I was admitted to labor and delivery yesterday around 2pm when my blood pressure reached 141/92 and remained even after resting.nbsp; We found out shortly, that I was also contracting every 2 to 4 minutes and it was causing cervical changes.nbsp; Baby A presenting baby is still breech and the doctor could feel his rear end.nbsp; Due to this my mobility has been removed so gravity doesn't assist in breaking his water any sooner than 36 weeks. I am only allowed up to potty. They were able to stop it and give me my first round of steroids but I will be here at least until 5pm today as they cannot administer my other steroid shot until after 4pm then hospital policy is I have to wait an hour to ensure no reaction.I am a little emotional right now due to all the changes after what I would call a fairly smooth twin pregnancy.nbsp; Also M stayed the night with me but left around 4am this morning to go home to the furbabies who have never been left alone like that and to shower and get ready for work. nbsp; Turn on the water works when that happened!My fingers are crossed the contractions stay gone as the doc informed me if they don't we will start a mag drip and be here until I deliver.nbsp; I am also still absorbing the news we will be delivered by 36 weeks now due to my bp.nbsp; That means we are about 2 weeks away or less.nbsp;nbsp; I really wanted to make it to at least 37 weeks but told the doctor I will do what is safe and his opinion with my climbing bp and other stats that 36 weeks or before is safest.If I get released today it will be on strict bed rest at home and I am fingers crossed this is our outcome.nbsp; Thanks ladies in advance!nbsp; I just thought I would share in case things are a little quiet from me.nbsp;

    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.

  • Thank you all so much!  It means a lot to us!

Just a small update.  The boys are still doing really well and are handling this much better than I am.  We will for sure be delivering by 36 weeks as my blood pressure is creeping back up (slowly but still back up).  They will be checking for proteins around 3pm today and as long as they are low or borderline, then I will be going home at least for tonight.  I will get my second steroid shot around 4 today then have to be monitored for an hour.  So if I am released it will most likely be around 6pm.  They will allow me to monitor my bp from home and as I long as I come right back for anything over 140/90.

They also just lifted all food and drink restrictions so I take that as a very good sign that the doctor isn't planning on delivering today Big Smile!  I was just allowed to order lunch so this is the first time I have had more than ice chips in 24 hours!  This alone has lowered my stress so much that I laughed at myself over it.

I will try and keep everyone updated when I can!

  • I am so sorry that you are going through this.  I am glad that they were able to get the contractions stopped and that you have gotten the steroid shots.  The shots are very helpful in reducing respiratory support if the babies are born early.  The bp does seem more concerning and it is very important to make sure that you are not progressing to pre-e.  Are they treating you with meds for your bp.  I would ask about that if you have not already discussed that with your dr.  If you have any questions about preemies or pre-eclampsia/hellp syndrome let me know.  I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

  • I got released last night from the hospital. They did a 24 hour catch to check for pree and it came back at a 380. 300 is the threshold for pree so we are definitely progressing that way.

The reason they released me is my bp never went over 120 over 70 all day, I only had 2 notable contractions and no signs of a head ache. Also they did get both steroid shots in me so they said that should help with the boys breathing.

I was released to strict bed rest and have a follow up with my doctor on Friday. We will do another 24 hour catch on Monday and if its further elevated with any other symptoms returning, the boys will have a birthday next week as close to 35 weeks as they can get me. I will also being going to see my doctor twice weekly until we deliver and have been told to make sure we have our bags packed for every appointment now.

Thank you everyone for the prayers, well wishes and positive thoughts. We still have a long road ahead of us but I am resting much easier knowing that we are being closely monitors and have crossed the 34 week threshold. I am coming to terms with the fact our boys may need NICU and I am praying we can hold out until 36 weeks to reduce that chance. If not I know they are in great hands! It's been a really emotional few days so again thank you all for this amazing support!

  • Making 34 weeks and having the steroid shots is HUGE and should help a lot.  There's a chance they'll have NICU time, but even that will be okay because it will help you to bring home healthy boys.  NICU is hard, but the most important thing is keeping all three of you healthy and safe.

Continued thoughts and prayers - keep those babies cooking!
