Pregnant after a Loss

Anyone else not have morning sickness?

I'm jealous of pregnant women who are running to the bathroom every 5 minutes to throw up because I feel like it gives them a sense of security about their pregnancy. I know that's stupid because I didn't have any morning sickness with DS and my mom didn't have any with me, but my PgAL brain is being irrational. Anyone else feel good physically?

  • Now that I'm in the 2nd tri, I can say that I didn't have the real "morning sickness"... I did have extreme food aversions though. Things really turned me off and eating them might have made me vomit but I didn't!

I know having these symptoms may seem like a reassurance, but no pregnancy is "normal". Everyone experiences these things differently.

  • I've got nada. My only symptom is slightly tender breasts that come and go, other wise I feel great. I've also had 3 excellent ultrasounds, the last one on Monday. IT's so hard to convince yourself everything is ok when you're not feeling pregnant, but really try not and place too much stock into symptoms.

  • Nope I never really got MS!  Neither did my mom or grandmother.  Not everyone has this symptom, so don't read into it too much!  And I'm even someone who is in general prone to nausea & vomiting (bad motion sickness, and as a reaction to certain medications).  I'm at 16w now and had a great 12w NT scan, so regardless of what happens from here on out, I think it's fair to say the lack of symptoms were not a good indicator of anything.

  • Honestly I was nauseous in the beginning but, learned quick if I kept myself fed I was fine and have only thrown up 6 times the whole pregnancy.

  • I felt the same way weeks 4-7.  Then the morning sickness came hardcore, and to be honest, I'm still a nervous wreck before every doctor's appointment.

Everyone is different... your MS could still kick in.  Mine started at 7 1/2 weeks, and is still going strong at 13 1/2 weeks.  My father suggested we name the baby Ralph if its a boy.

Enjoy not feeling nauseated for now :)  Good luck!

  • You're still pretty early too, I started feeling really ill at about 5 and a half weeks. I feel okay during the day (which is good at work), then I feel like poo in the evening. It's mostly just nausea, I've anly actually thrown up twice. I gag alot though. This week has been a little bit better, which freaks me out. I totally understan the PGAL brain. I hate it while I'm feeling sick, then when I feel better I want it to come back! I really can't wait until my next ultrasound!

  • I only had three days where I didn't feel well.  Those days weren't even consecutive, nor did I feel sick for the whole day.  I didn't actually ever throw up either.  I just consider myself extremely lucky.  (And I can feel my LO squirming around inside me while I type. Try not to worry.)

  • Nothing here either, and I know what you mean... my last pregnancy I had almost no symptoms either, but considering what happened, that doesn't comfort me much. Right now I'm just counting my blessings that I have a positive test and no sickness. With my job, symptom free is a very good thing!
  • Mine just kicked in this week...I was worrying the same thing...Though I'm having it in the AM and about bed time...While it sucks, I'm glad I have it - that damn PgAL brain...I say things like that all the time to my BF - man I hope my boobs stay this sore and I hope my face keeps breaking out - he looks at me like I've lost my mind - but you're right its a sense of security...I'm sure that all is well - give it a few more weeks ; )  Or you may be as lucky this go around and not have it at all!!

  • Compared to DD (which was a nightmare as far as m/s was concerned), I had almost no m/s...only for a couple weeks starting week 9. It definitely messed with my head but I know that it is a blessing to not have to upchuck all the time. Signs come and go and sometimes never even show up so I tried to remind myself that they were not a surefire way to answer how things were. I hope you get some peace of mind soon!

  • Aside from being crazy tired and sore boobs (that even quit a week of two ago). I have been feeling amazing! I threw up exactly once at 10 weeks. I was the same way you are, wishing so hard for morning sickness, but now that I know my baby is good, the last thing I want is to feel sick. Enjoy it!
