Sorry if I'm getting annoying with all these questions..... I'm just new to this whole thing so I want to make sure I'm doing everything right. From my understanding... you are supposed to temp every morning at the same time as soon as you wake up..... right?? So my question is.... Why does it take so long for the temp to register?? Or does it just seem like it takes forever.... especially when i gotta use the bathroom so bad first thing in the morning??? It takes about 2-3 minutes.... but for some reason that just seems really long to me! Any thoughts??
Re: Another ? about temping
This made me giggle, just because I know how you feel. Just wait until you're finally pregnant and have something standing in the way of the bathroom!
The amount of time it takes to register your temp will depend on your thermometer. You should be using a Basal one, so it's automatically going to take longer than most non-basal, that is one of the ways in which it ensures the most precise of readings. But I do think there's some variation in length of time between brands. I believe mine took 60 seconds. It should say on the packaging.

It really depends on the thermometer. The Mabis from Walmart is very popular among people who temp. We have it and I think it's 45-60 seconds.
Do you wake up at the exact same time every day? DW actually has an alarm set for 6 a.m. (earlier than she ever wakes up) to take her temp and then goes right back to sleep. Doing it at the same time every day really makes a big big difference.
Also, the Trying to Get Pregnant board is a great resource for charting/temping questions - lots of experienced ladies over there and you can probably find your question already posted by someone.
