Trouble TTC

1st RE appt update

Hi ladies! I hope you are having a good day. Very rainy and dreary here! We had our first RE appt this afternoon. I was so nervous!!! Until I met my RE that is. He put me and DH at ease. he was very sensitive to cost efficiency and his goal is to get us KU as quickly as possible! His plan is for me to get a hysteroscopy on Tuesday, along with some blood work. Then we will start "the plan". I will be started on letrozole 5mg monitored, have an ultrasound then trigger shot and IUI. He has a "combo package" where I get 3 cycles of this for the price of one if we got it separately He said our prognosis was very good.
Also! I mentioned in a previous post that my DH SA was abnormal. They had never given us any numbers, they just said "a little low". So we went over numbers and he said his numbers won't effect fertility. They are a little low so he refered him to a urologist. Just to get it checked out, Not related to infertility.
Anyways, I feel great about the appt. I'm ready to get KU!!

  • Hi there! Glad you like your RE and the plan he has for you. I am wondering why he is having you do a hysteroscopy. What is he looking for at this point?

Yes, I had the same question.  Did you mean an HSG?  If so, that makes sense.  Good luck!  Glad you like your RE!

He is putting it through insurance as being for "dysmenorrhea"--thats mainly so insurance will pay for it as no fertility related. He said he is doing it to make sure all the structures are normal, no polyps or blockages, etc.

I thought he would do an HSG as well but he's doing the hysteroscopy with ultrasound so he can see the tubes. So much information came at me at once so I'm sure i'm forgetting some specifics.
