Does anyone feel like you're constantly swimming upriver with putting things away? I can go through and put away every.single.toy while Ava naps and once she plays downstairs again, it looks like a bomb went off. It's seriously disheartening to clean the same thing 3 times a day. And I feel like I *have* to pick stuff up because she runs everywhere, doesn't watch where she's going, and trips over toys that she leaves on the floor.

I just resolve that I clean toys once. At night they get put away in a big basket, the end. Sometimes during the day I will push them to the perimeters of the room so there is no tripping, but I don't clean it.

I actually like when we go out in the morning because I can come home and there are no toys out until after nap haha.

But seriously, it takes pretty much the same effort to clean it once, so just resolve to have a messy house during the day and that's it!

I face the same thing. I'm tired of picking up toys and it's the main reason why the house looks dirty. I've resorted to doing what jilly does. I just can't pick it up all day everyday

I pick things up after they go to bed- usually the family room is not that bad- mostly matchbox cars now with some other small things. The playroom- well that gets cleaned when I feel like it- it could be nightly or it could be weekly. The beauty of having a door to close.

I'm like jilly. During the day I just push things to the wall and at the end of the day everything goes in their baskets and toy boxes.
I hate stepping on legos and cars though. Thats the worst.

OMG right now the thing that hurts the worst to step on are these sesame street figurines he has. All of them have their arms out and their faces have these huge noses and other protrusions. All meant to kill your foot!

Yeah, I'm in the once a day camp. Occasionally twice. Sooo frustrating. And, for some reason I've been in this mood where I can't sit still if something is out of place. Totally unlike me and also ridiculous considering I live with a toddler. Lol

I'm a bit different b/c C's not at home during the day most days, but on the days he is, I usually clean up during nap and after bed. If it's his room though, usually right away b/c it's very tiny.

Most of the time it looks like Toys R Us threw up in our family room but we try to pick up at least once a day. I've started going downstairs and picking stuff up when my 1am insomnia/pee trip occurs. Our house is a constant battle. It isn't dirty but man is it cluttered. I told myself huge house meant more places to put things away... BWAHAHAHA more like more space to clutter up with crap you don't need. I literally go to Goodwill between 3 & 5 times a year when I get sick of looking at stuff.

Yes! This is me, too. We have a big house and I don't understand how it's totally filled with stuff. We moved from 1200 sqf to 3500 sqf and I feel like I have no place to put things! Maybe I just need to be more organized...

Boys go to DC 4x a week, but we pick up before nap & before bed- THEY have to help too... They know where their stuff goes and they do really help!! They have to do the same thing at DC, so it works out good!

B's in daycare during the week, but on the weekends I pull him into cleaning his toys up. On occasion it's meant that I've literally held his hand and moved it for him to pick up the lego and put in the box (all while he's crying in my ear), but after one or two times of that he usually comes around. It doesn't mean he always jumps to help out, but he can usually be guided into it.

E like to help clean too but it'll take an hour to get cleaned up because he gets distracted and plays instead! We just clean up after bed at night too.

My house looks like I run a daycare. Toys everywhere, usually put away as best as possible, but no room to hide them.

I pick up once an evening and on weekends when she goes down on a nap and then down for the night.

The toys have sadly become part of our decor.....

Hopefully sooner then later we will have a bigger house and either a finished basement/ playroom, or an actual play room.

I pick up toys during nap and after the kids go to bed. It's a waste of time and energy if I do it more often then that. Like Jilly, toys get pushed to walls so the main area is clear for walking.

I feel like my house hasn't really been clean in 2yrs.
