This dull ache after urinating...

It normally only happens right after I empty a full bladder, like at night. Its like a dull achy, crampy feeling for a few seconds in my uterus. My first thought was urinary tract infection so I took a home test and it was negative.  Does anyone else have this? I didnt have this with first pregnancy.

    I have a dull achy feeling too! It feels like there is a lot of pressure in my bladder. I went to the bathroom last night with a big urge to go and hardly anything came out but then 30 minutes later was able to empty my bladder and the same thing happened thus morning. I hope this is all normal.

    I have the same feeling and it seems to be mainly at night. I feel like I wake up right before my bladder is about to explode and when I do empty my bladder its just as sore for a couple of seconds. I have no other symptoms that would point to a bladder infections and during the day it doesn't happen. Must be one of those odd pregnancy things again Smile

    I have this too. I went to my DR and he said I don't have a UTI, and he can't think of anything "wrong" that would cause that. He did suggest that I mention it to my MW but other than that he didn't seem the least bit concerned.

    *not so expert opinion* Maybe releasing your bladder slightly irritated your uterus? If I recall my biology correctly, the bladder is right next to the uterus, so it's not hard to imagine that releasing your urine may have an effect on the growing uterus, esp. if you're forcing it out. Maybe try relaxing (or relax more) and letting it flow out...see what happens. 

    Talk to the doctor.

    I haven't had this yet this time around, but I can remember is from my last pregnancy. It definitely was worse the longer I'd been without a pee, or the more full I was, so to speak. I guess I always assumed it was because of that that my bladder had been so full to busting that once it was emptied, it ached a bit from the strain. I don't recall the ache lasting very long though.
