Elecare & starting solids?

DS is just over 4 months old and we are not starting solids yet... we have a GI appointment next week and I'll be discussing a bunch of questions with her but I was thinking about this today so I thought I see if any of you had experience.

We've been on Elecare since he was about 6 weeks for his MSPI.  The stuff is just plain nasty (not sure if you've ever tasted it, but it's god awful and literally almost made me vomit when I tried it).  So, my question is.. once you start to introduce solids and LO starts tasting "real food", did you have problems getting him to continue eating this nasty tasting stuff?

    Nope. It's what DD was used to so she still drank it like normal. And I agree- the smell is a total turn off. DD used it and now DS is on it as well. He smells like a nasty french fry.

    Nope, DS did fine drinking Elecare and eating solids.  He drank Elecare no problems.  I agree, it is nasty stuff.  But thank goodness it's available.  :)
