kissing LO

I was lurking not long ago on a BMB and read someones reply that she will never kiss her LO on their lips once it is born because its gross.

As I was kissing O all over his face today, lips included, I thought how is this gross? I love his baby kisses!

Am I alone in this or what? Do you kiss LO on their lips?

It's my child, my flesh and blood! How could I not want kisses on the lips? I will take as many messy, slobbery, "nasty" kisses as she wants to give me! All on the lips!! Lol.

My husband and I both do. They are almost always openmouthed and slobbery, but that's what baby/toddler kisses are! At some point we will have to teach him that you don't go around kissing everyone on the mouth, but he doesn't get that yet.

And we aren't really worried about germs, because he's in daycare. Haha

I am all about the baby kisses! Actually! I think it will be a sad day when he learns to pucker his lips and not just open mouth yawn kiss us!

Today we read a book called Kiss Kiss; it talked aboutte different types of kisses we give and get! During te book Bo was eating his goldfish and reached out for me! He pulled me in and have THE BEST open mouth goldfish kiss! I wan writing that one down today! So sweet.

We don't kiss on the lips. We give tons and tons of kisses, everywhere else, but not on the lips. I don't judge if you do, but we think of that as a "romantic" place for kissing. I don't kiss my relatives on the lips either.

Same here! I cannot get enough!!!
I proudly admit I am obsessed with my son and purposefully sans lipgloss so non allergenic smooches can be had!

I do but only when I ask for a kiss, say good night, hello, or good-bye. Other than that it's usually all over his cheeks, head, neck.

I kiss him all over his face! He actually doesn't like it but I don't care haha btw if me or H kisses him on his lips he "clean" himself. I don't know where he got that... that kid is incredible. So, is my kid I don't see anything wrong in kissing him on the lips

Oh yeah, my fave kisses are on the lips.

I have noticed that DH gives her his cheek for her to kiss. She gets kind of confused bc I always try to get her to kiss me on the lips. So I said something about letting her kiss him on the lips and he will when I say it. Not sure if that is a dad/daughter thing in general?? My dad and I used to kiss on the lips.... But DH and his family are not very PDA at all.

Poor Max. I kiss that boy all the time! He rarely gives kisses but gave me one on the mouth today and I literally melted. There are some family members that I kiss on the mouth, gosh it sounds gross when you say it like that, but it is like a quick peck. No big deal!

We do lip kissing in our house -- I love the open-mouthed, slobbery, teethy kisses! I think eventually we'll grow out of lip kissing... I didn't grow up in a family of lip-kissers (or really any kissing...)

However, my grandpa and both DH's grandpa's kiss me on the lips when they see me. It was really, really strange the first time DH's grandpa did it... but now I know it's coming. It's totally a cute old man thing -- I figure if I were that old, I'd want all the kisses I could get too! ha!

I never go in for the mouth kiss with my kids, but that said, I am on the receiving end of many wet slobbery open mouth kisses. Halle is a very enthusiastic kisser.

I don't really intend to kiss her on the mouth, but if it happens, it happens. I am all over those cheeks though. She tends to mostly still kiss me by clamping her mouth on my chin.
