LO hates tummy time. I'm lucky if he will lay on his stomach for 5 min without crying. He seems to have a strong neck though..it's still a little wobbly. But...I'm worried he is behind because he hasn't even tried to roll over and a few of my friends with younger babies say their LOs have rolled over. My LO is 10 weeks tomorrow. Anything I'm doing wrong or any tips???

Re: Worried LO might be behind
My LO is 7wks and she hasn't rolled over yet. My first child hated tummy time so we never did it. I don't remember when he rolled over but eventually he did.
For now I'm enjoying the fact that my LO isn't going anywhere just yet because before I know it, I will be chasing after her. lol
One of my twins doesn't like tummy time either. An occupational therapist friend recommended placing a light up toy in front of her face to kind of distract her and that seems to help. He also said to try for a very short time and to slowly increase it each day.
You aren't doIng anything wrong. Babies just develop at different rates.
My LO hated tummy time for 11 weeks and then changed his mind and stopped screaming and started lifting his head up. Change can come pretty suddenly.
I carried him in the Ergo a lot so he practiced holding his head up. I out a mirror in front of him to encourage him to look up, and I propped him on the Boppy for tummy time. My friend swears by tummy time on an exercise ball. Just keep trying. He will get there.
Stop worrying! Your LO is way too young for you to get caught up in them being "behind" already. Enjoy the time you have with them!
Lots of kids don't do things "on time." Doesn't mean anything is wrong with them!
This.
This. Each baby/child does thing at their own pace. You should only start to worry if your pedi is also concerned. Or, as a mom, you'll know when something is really wrong vs your child just going at their own pace. All of my kids have been late rollers, crawlers and walkers, but with my second I noticed that she wouldn't put her feet down and even try to stand or jump and so that's when I got concerned.
Don't spend your time constantly comparing your baby it others, it's a contest you can't win.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
