I'm hoping someone can guide me! I would liket to start yoga or pilates but I don't know when I should start - currently I am 12 weeks, is this too soon?
If you have not done Pilates in the past you should not start at 12 weeks. I have done Pilates reformer for years and through both my pregnancies. My SIL wanted to do it once she was 12 weeks and my teacher refused saying she should not start something she did not have experience with. She called a bunch of other places and got the same answer. Additionally, I would not recommend Pilates videos unless you have experience because they are core intensive and you can easily not do the exercise correctly, but that is just my opinion based on the experience I have practicing. As for yoga I would just go ahead and find a good prenatal class at any time.
If you start yoga, you might be able to find a mommy/baby yoga class. I started one with DD when she was 2 months old and we both love it! it has also turned into a great support group. The yoga moves are catered to postpartum moms.
EDIT: sorry, not sure if you meant 12 weeks postpartum or 12 weeks pregnant (i think you meant 12 weeks pregnant). but something to keep in mind once LO is here i guess! : )
